We recently received our next podcast episode from Juju and Jordash, a predictably brilliant live show recording that you’ll get to hear some time next week, following up Tobias Gullberg’s classy contribution to the series. Along with it we also got a copy of the second Off Minor release, a selection of little-heard David Moufang archive tracks from the early 90′s.
Having had a chance to give it a good old listen, the digital version initially then the record towards the end of the week, we’ve developed a fondness for two tracks in particular; Picking Flowers for You for it’s warmth, curious pops and laid back, meandering structure as well as Ovi Riese for it’s raw, unforgiving synth work and balls to the wall pace.
As an ep, it’s not perhaps as polished as contemporary Move D material but it remains, undoubtedly, wonderful to listen to. It highlights the musical ability Moufang had early on and presents the opportunity to own some material made early in his career, music that’s usually prohibitively rare or expensive. Lots of places have sold out of this already but you can still get a resell copy, sure there’ll be a few online shops with some left as well.
